The PreMedia Specialist will play an important role in the creative team by assisting in the translation of creative concepts into print and online media. Using your artistic expertise and technical proficiency, you’ll communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and engage consumers.
What You’ll Do
As a PreMedia Specialist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Design and Production:
- Create and Design Materials:Â Develop a comprehensive pool of print and online marketing materials including sales promotional copy, leaflets, brochures, and website copy.
- Image Retouching:Â Apply image enhancement and modification to achieve the best quality of all images.
- Quality Assurance:Â Ensure each design project is accurate and in line with the project brief, brand guidelines, etc.
Collaboration:
- Team Coordination:Â Work with account managers on work scope, task implementation plans, etc.
- Client Relationship Management:Â Form durable, trusting relationships with account managers and their staff to meet all customer needs and expectations.
Workflow and Training:
- System Proficiency:Â Complete comprehensive training in the Xpressdocs house system to enable automated workflow execution of creative workflows.
- Project Management:Â Take responsibility for multiple projects concurrently, ensuring compliance with design criteria, time constraints, and Service Level Agreement (SLA) constraints.
Innovation and Problem Solving:
- Technical Expertise:Â Utilize methodologies for creative problem-solving in multimedia and graphic design to systemize production processes.
- Can-Do Attitude:Â Strive for problem identification and develop clever solutions, always aiming for fantastic outcomes.
What It Takes to Succeed
You will be best suited for this role if you have the following qualifications, skillset, and mindset:
Professional Experience:
- 3-5 Years of Industry Expertise:Â Education/professional experience is preferable, with an emphasis on Print Production, Prepress, or Graphic Design.
- Commercial Printing Knowledge:Â Skilled in commercial print workflow with the ability to effectively manage teams and see a production process through to completion.
- Variable Data Applications:Â Experience with variable data applications is a competitive advantage.
Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced Software Skills:Â Well-versed in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Microsoft Office, and MacOS.
- Typography & Layout:Â Highly skilled with a deep understanding of typography, kerning, tracking, leading, and layout design techniques.
Creative Skills:
- Design Aesthetics:Â Possess a constructive design layout eye for creating visually congruent and pleasant designs suitable for branding guidelines.
- Problem Solving:Â Ability to identify and control problems early to maintain project schedules.
Mindset and Attitude:
- Attention to Detail:Â Ensure feasible design and manufacturing tasks with quality control at each step.
- Client-Centric Approach:Â Develop client loyalty by exceeding expectations and building enduring, secure relationships.
