About Trust & Safety
The TikTok Trust and Safety (TnS) Platform Team is a key contributor to the creation of a safe, secure, and robust online environment for our millions of users worldwide. Their goal is to protect users from harmful information and abusive behavior, improve trust in public, and deliver one of the highest quality user experiences to date.
As part of the TnS Risk and Response team, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams—Product Managers, Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientists, and QA Specialists—to design solutions for managing risks and handling escalations effectively.
Key Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer (Frontend/Fullstack) in the Trust Safety team, you’ll be responsible for:
- Platform Development:Â Development of scalable, powerful, and stable Trust Safety platforms and tools.
- Web Applications:Â Design and development of high-fidelity, web-based, and web-enabled scalable, and interactive applications and their user interfaces.
- System Architecture:Â Develop high-performance, next-generation, web-scale web front-end systems to support web-scale applications.
- Collaboration:Â Informational transfer skills to the specialists, business/work programmers, and machine learning developers to deliver new and innovative solutions.
- Technology Research:Â Engage with new web technologies, prototype new, modular, minimalist frameworks, and make them tools for the creation of artifacts.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Education:Â Bachelor’s (or equivalent) in the field of Computer Science and related fields from accredited colleges and universities.
- Experience:Â 3 years of frontend or fullstack JavaScript web application development, including:
- End-user experience optimization.
- Code modularity, stability, scalability, and rendering latency.
- Frontend Skills:Â Strong experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, as well as with common problems of asynchronous programming, closures, browser, accessibility, and animation.
- Programming Proficiency:Â Backend programming language (Python, Go, PHP, C++, or Java) experience (intermediate to senior level).
- Architecture Knowledge:Â Solid understanding of frontend-backend multi-tier application architecture and protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Frameworks:Â Material expertise in web libraries (e.g., React, Vue.js, or Angular).
- Tools:Â Expert level in bundling/compilation toolsets such as Webpack, Rollup, Babel, AST, or Gulp, etc.
- Domain Expertise:Â Previous experience with Trust Safety systems, risk management, or no-code/low-code platform development.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary Range:
- Up to $160,960 per year (depending on qualification and experience as well as site).
